Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a manual medicine that focuses on total body health by treating and strengthening the musculo-skeletal framework (joints, muscles and spine). It is drug-free and non invasive. Its aim is, by working on the musculoskeletal framework, to positively affect the body’s nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems.
There are different approaches to osteopathy:
Structural osteopathy in which a variety of manipulative techniques can be used including muscles and joint techniques.
Cranial osteopathy, a very gentle approach for which the osteopath uses a highly developped sense of touch to assess and improve small movements occuring in the deep tissues of the body.
Paediatric osteopathy which is specially adapted to the babies, children and teenagers needs. Visceral osteopathy which is more directed towards organs like heart, lungs, bowels and can help with several conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, incontinence etc.
